Abstract

VAMDC bridged the gap between atomic and molecular (A&M) producers and users by providing an interoperable e-infrastructure connecting A&M databases, as well as tools to extract and manipulate those data. The current paper highlights how the new paradigms for data citation produced by the Research Data Alliance in order to address the citation issues in the data-driven science landscape, have successfully been implemented on the VAMDC e-infrastructure.

Dr. Carlo Maria Zwölf has a background in mathematical modelling for physics and scientific computing. Since his arrival at the Paris Astronomical Observatory he has been involved into the International Virtual Observatory Alliance, where he developed a new standard for the interoperability of scientific web services (the Parameter Description Language). He has been the deputy coordinator of the European FP7 project SUP@VAMDC. He is the executive director of the Virtual Atomic and Molecular Data Center Consortium since its foundation and is the chair of the VAMDC Consortium scientific and technical board.
